Writers Room & Writers Residence
We are both film and television dramaturges/screenwriters and studied at the Film University in Babelsberg. Before moving to Portugal, we lived in Berlin & Potsdam for more than 25 years. Since 2011, we have regularly hosted guests, including numerous artists, in houses or flats that we originally lived in ourselves. Every room we design is unique. It emerges from what it is. The conditions it brings with it are never denied or eliminated, but always integrated. The result is a living space with a very special atmosphere.
We are both filmmakers, authors & artists and we know from our own experience how much the creative process absorbs you and how helpful it can sometimes be to leave your familiar surroundings. However, it is important to find a place that is not anonymous or sterile, but where you can feel at home and safe during this intensive process. At the same time, however, it is essential to have the space to "clear your head" and to concentrate and focus entirely on your own project. Our Seasideloft Atelier for Storytelling offers all of this.
In addition to this fantastic space, we also offer the opportunity to provide support during project development - at whatever stage. Whether it's getting an idea for a film or series off the ground, or getting back on track with a project that has gone completely off track. We have decades of experience as head writers, scriptwriters, dramaturges and film university lecturers.
Our strength is that we are not only well versed in American film dramaturgy (now almost the only dramaturgy you can still see), but thanks to our training at the Konrad Wolf Academy of Film and Television in Babelsberg, where we were taught film art at the end of the 1990s, we not only have a comprehensive command of epic, analytical and episodic narrative structures, but have also learnt from scratch to consciously understand and use film aesthetics as part of dramaturgy.

We are happy to make all our knowledge available and provide support in the phase of the writing and development process when help is most needed. This can be on-site or remote.
